the best light Chocolate Sheet Cake
If you are looking for the most decadent chocolate sheet cake here it is … not a usual one, because instead of butter for the chocolate cream i used a special ingredient that is cheese …yes it seems a little bit strange but i assure you it is delicious and way lighter than the usual chocolate buttercream ….
- Prep time:20 min + baking time
ingredients:
CHOCOLATE CAKE BASE:
- 150 ml milk
- 100 ml coffee
- 100 ml sunflower oil
- 100 gr greek yogurt
- 225 gr flour
- 200 gr granulated sugar
- 75 gr cocoa powder
- 1 egg
- 1 teasp baking powder
- pinch of salt
Chocolate cake cream:
- 100 ml heavy cream
- 150 gr dark chocolate 50%
- 1 tbs coffee
- 150 gr sugar
- 200 gr philadelphia type cheese
Directions
Cake base:
- Preheat your oven to 180°C.
- In a medium saucepan mix the flour and the sugar .
- Add milk ,sunflower oil (or another oil that you prefer )greek yogurt ,1 egg and mix well until you achieve an homogeneous composition.
- Then add your coffee ,that it will enhance the chocolate flavor …if you don’t like coffee you can add just water.., one teasp baking powder and at last the cocoa powder and a pinch of salt.
- Pour the batter into a square baking tin greased and lined with baking paper.
- Bake at 180°C for about 20-22 min…it should remain pretty fudgy inside.
- Let your cake base cool down completely.
Chocolate Cream:
- Boil your heavy cream for 1-2 min.
- Pour it in a saucepan then add the sugar and your dark chocolate roughly chopped and a tbs coffee.
- Mix everything well until you achieve a soft mousse then add your cheese .
- Spread your chocolate cream onto your cold cake base .
- Cut your chocolate sheet cake and enjoy it 🙂
Baking time: 180°C - 20 -22 min
